On May 11, TheMusic.com.au launched the Daily News Feed (http://www.themusic.com.au/dailynews.php?s=dailynews) which broadcasts 10-12 music business, industry issues or technology articles sourced each weekday morning.
That following Friday (May 14) we changed the weekly news column from Christie's Column to the Velvet Rope (http://www.themusic.com.au/velvetrope.php?s=velvetrope) where a group of writers collectively known as the Door Bitch unveils highly controversial news and analysis every Friday at noon.
We knew these free services would attract viewers and we were right, we just got our site stats back from Google and the numbers show a massive increase of traffic.
From May 10 - May 16 we had 9997 page views and over 4500 unique visitors
* Daily News Feed (5 days only) was 2379 page views.
* Velvet Rope (only measured for three days) was 1200 page views and growing
* Loose Cannon had over 1200 reads in just 10 days (Whatever Happened to the Music Network, or is that NotWork) http://www.themusic.com.au/imm.php?s=phil
* Our readers are mostly Australian, but we had 78 countries tune in.
You'll notice we have some key advertisers with us benefiting from the highly targeted music industry traffic and you can utilise our site's impact with our cost effective banner ad rates http://www.themusic.com.au/advertise.php
