NEW SPEAKERS
The speaker list to the National Entertainment Industry Conference August 1-2 in Sydney grows with the addition of emerging artist Julia Darling to the Artists panel that kicks off the event and world renowned composer, electronic musician, jingle maker and record producer Andrew Thomas Wilson. While Julia will share the pressures and oddities of being picked off the street as a busker, Andrew will be on the session discussing getting music into film and television or advertising as well as premiums or special products. Andrew has composed the music for some of the top commercials that rattle through your head in the shower (winning major awards for ads for Coke, Toyota, McDonalds, Mastercard) as well as a number of film scores and even Bob Downe's last lounge jazz album as well as the music for four World Expos. Emmanuel Candi, Executive Director of the Australian Record Industry Association has been added to the Industry Issues Panel on August 2. Also just added onto our Artist Panel is Chris Dubrow of Insurge, the angry young man with the massive website who'll bring a harder edge to The Prince and Princesses Formerly Known As Artist session.

THE EVERGROWING SHOW BAG
Apple Computer Australia has had to beef up the strength of the showbag for the National Entertainment Industry Conference since so many overseas and Australian technical and music trade publications are shipping in copies for insertion. Already confirmed are US trade magazines Pollstar, Hollywood Reporter and radio tipsheet Gavin Report; Music News Asia covering that region, Soundworks from Singapore; the UK's Music Business International magazine and Music & Copyright newsletter; Australia's film trade Encore, Australian Digital, Sounds Australasia, Ambience, Information Age, Convergence Reporter, Media Week, Macuser, Australian Music Report chart magazine, ARIA Report chart magazine, ARIA/PPCA/AEROS Newsletters, Rhythms and even the new Country Music Roundup magazine. More are still being confirmed which will shoot the showbag to over 10 kilos.

AND STANDS ARE BEING SET UP
Apple Computer Australia will be there with a massive stand featuring a large number of developers. The Big Backyard will have a stand showing their new music video channel BBY TV as well as their range of radio and commercial samplers. Imaginet will reveal their unique technology for adding multimedia content to CDs. And TEAME will be seeking more opportunities to place employees in the music and entertainment industries through their program.
