Martin is a Welshman who has spent most of his life in England with the last 3 years working in Australia for HMV. Martin has a very strong background in bricks & mortar retail management and is now very enthusiastically throwing himself into the challenge of managing HMV¹s ecommerce strategies. His current role as Commercial Director for HMV Australia has the following departments reporting to him: € E-Commerce Martin¹s previous role within the company was Operations Director. In this role he was responsible for the management and operations of all HMV Australia¹s stores incorporating all new store openings. Prior to coming to Australia, Martin spent 3 years in Hong Kong involved in the initial launch of the HMV business, both in that country, and in Singapore. He opened the largest music store in South East Asia at Kowloon in Hong Kong. Martin left Hong Kong in July 97. Previous to that, Martin spent 4 years in the UK working in different HMV locations including London¹s West End running the Piccadilly Circus store Before joining HMV, he worked for Marks and Spencer¹s in a number of management roles. |
