Combining the instrumental, vocal and songwriting talents of James Roche and Tania Doko, gives you the Australian duo Bachelor Girl.

James & Tania first got together over 7 years ago. The two worked together part-time over the next four years while Tania was completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Then in 1997 James and Tania got serious and put together a demo CD and performed several Melbourne showcases. It was from one of these performances that Bachelor Girl landed a recording contract with Gotham / BMG Australia.

Most of the tracks from their debut album ŒWaiting For The Day¹ were recorded and mixed in their own studio. These talents were later to earn them the 1999 ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Award for Producer Of The Year.

It has been 2 years since Bachelor Girls debut single Buses & Trains leapt onto the Australian music charts and in that time they have become one of the countries leading live and recording acts.

. Debut single "Buses & Trains" reached #4 on the National ARIA Chart.

€ "Buses & Trains" achieved Platinum status and was one of the highest selling Australian singles and spent 33 weeks on the ARIA national chart.

€ "Buses & Trains" was the first single to be released from Bachelor Girl¹s debut album "Waiting For The Day".

€ "Treat Me Good" was the second single, "Lucky Me" the third, and "Blown Away" the fourth, to be released from the "Waiting For The Day" album. All were mayor top 40 singles.

€ Album "Waiting For The Day" The bands Debut album has had a phenomenal run, it went Gold in the first week of release and is currently just off DOUBLE PLATINUM status.

€ The album Waiting For The Day was released in November 1998 an spent 0ver 20 month in the ARIA National TOP 40 chart, an amazing achievement!

€ At last year¹s RAWARDS (the radio industry¹s yearly awards ceremony) held in Canberra, Bachelor Girl scooped the only two awards handed out to music acts! These Awards were:

€ Then they followed up these nominations by winning the Award for Producer of the Year for their self produced album "Waiting for the Day" APRA Awards 1999

€ The 5th single From the Waiting for the Day album "Permission To Shine" has receiving massive airplay. Released in December 1999 it is raced to the top of the Music Network national Radio chart and stayed there for the next 4 months. Permission to Shine is not a commercial single and is only available on the album "Waiting for the Day").

€ February 2000 - Bachelor Girl has recently won the PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia) award for the MOST BROADCAST AUSTRALIAN RECORDING ARTIST. Bachelor Girl songs have been played on Australian radio and Television in 1999 more times than :
