David Higgins
is the Sydney Morning Herald's Technology Editor.
David has been
writing about technology and the Internet for Australian newspapers
since 1993. He joined The Australian in 1994, covering the launch
of Windows 95 and the commercialisation of the Internet in Australia.
In 1997 he joined
the Sydney Morning Herald as a writer and later edited the paper's
I.T. and BIZ.COM sections. He has written extensively on Australian
tech stocks and developments such as Napster and digital broadcasting.
In August 1997
David wrote the first in-depth newspaper feature on MP3, which was
nominated for the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance's Walkley
Awards. During his time at News Ltd he independently published a
music fanzine and CD called UnderWorld Magazine.
He is currently
undertaking an MBA at the University of Technology, Sydney.
