2009 South by Southwest Festival & Conference

In 2009, we will once again increase the entertainment industry professionals from Australia and New Zealand attending the SxSW conferences and trade fairs for music, film and interactive as well as the showcases of over 1400 bands and hundreds of films being shown.
In 2008, over 250 registrants from our territories attended with 26 artists adding another 200 bodies to the count. It was the largest number of Australian and New Zealand artists ever overseas in one place or at one time. This is a far cry from 2002 when SxSW attracted only 20 attendees and five bands from this part of the world.
We update this site throughout the year after SxSW finishes in late March and the 2009 dates have been announced with artist submissions starting in late August at www.sxsw.com/music and film submissions at www.sxsw.com/film. A mass of information on the event is at the official site www.sxsw.com.

The 9th AustralAsian Music Business Conference has been announced for August 20-22 2009 (Thursday to Saturday) from 10am to 5:30pm at The Acer Arena with over 50 speakers to participate in 9 90 minute seminars with a 30 minute keynote speech by industry leaders each day and two hours of post-conference networking each evening.
