This is a paid listing section. Our boxed, enhanced artist listings offer all artists, including those who are currently unmanaged and/or unrecorded, the chance to obtain a print and online presence for themselves in our print directory and on our AustralAsian Music Industry Directory website.

Deadlines: the listing deadlines are December 1 for our March edition & June 1 for the September edition. A late listing fee of $77 applies to submissions received up to one fortnight after these dates (December 15 & June 15) and are in addition to any listing &/or extra paid information fees.

Artists - MMF

A free boxed, enhanced listing is available for self managed MMF Artist members. This option is beneficial for MMF members who are self managed artists or 1 artist managers who aren't looking to manage other acts or artists.

Deadlines: the free MMF Artist listing deadline is November 15 for our March edition & May 15 for the September edition. A late listing fee of $77 applies to submissions received up to one month after these dates (December 15 & June 15) and are in addition to any extra paid information fees.

Associations, Unions & Trade Organistaions

A free listing is available for music business trade organisations dealing with the music industry, those entities representing the interest of musical genres such as jazz, country, classical, film music, Aboriginal, youth, Christian, heavy metal or new age - whatever. Listing in this section is only for non-profit or approved trade organisations.

A free listing is only available for university or conservatorium educational institutions (including TAFE courses) offering programs in music or music business. For private learning establishments-- audio schools, music tuition courses or other establishments offering music related courses--a $77 listing fee is applicable.

Licensing, Premiums & Special Services

A free listing is available only to companies, including music publishers and record companies, who specialise in the licensing of music, both songs of composers and songwriters as well as recorded music titles through record companies. It has been expanded to incorporate those companies who procure music for or produce premiums, those which specialise in the creation of special music products by licensing or other means and those which place music in advertising, film soundtracks, TV programs or other special applications. In order to be in this section, you must have an established company or operation and be recognised by AMCOS, PPCA, ARIA or APRA. You also must be able to license a broad range of music, not just from one writer, band or catalogue.

You may only submit one, free listing per company or per individual address/phone/fax. Should you wish to be in other sections the lowest priced listing will be marked as the free listing, with others carrying a listing fee of $77/noted price outlined on the form.

Management

The free listing rules are:

A free listing is available in this section is limited to include managers of recorded artists with a current release (in the past 12 months) on a major/multinational label or a label distributed through a recognised national distributor (EDC, Shock, Inertia, MGM, MRA, Stomp, One Stop). OR, we also allow a free listing if the manager is a current paid up MMF member (paid by May 1 for September's edition and October 1 for the March edition) and is a multi-artist manager.

You may only submit one, free listing per company or per individual address/phone/fax. Should you wish to be in other sections the lowest priced listing will be marked as the free listing, with others carrying a listing fee of $77/noted price outlined on the form.

To expand:
* Artist managers of one or more recorded artists
If you manage a recording artist(s), through an established Record company distributed nationally, with a current full length CD you are entitled to a free listing with your artists cross referenced in the Artist Section. Artists must have a current national release not on their own 'Vanity' or one-artist label.
* Artist managers of recorded and non-recorded artists
If you manage a recording artist(s), through an established Record company distributed nationally, with a current full length CD release and also manage non-recorded artist(s) you are entitled to a free listing with your artists cross referenced in the Artist Section.
* Current paid-up MMF members
We also extend the free listing offer to managers if they are a current paid up MMF member (paid by May 1 for September's edition and October 1 for the March edition) and is a multi-artist manager. For MMF members who are self-managed artists we offer a free Enhanced Artist listing rather than a Management listing.

A fee of $77 (inc GST) for your listing applies if you do not meet the criteria above.

The paid listing rules are:

* Managers of Non-Recorded Artists/Non MMF Members
If you do not conform to the above criteria and you manage more than three unrecorded artists - (your artist(s) do not have current recordings in the market) then you can have a management listing upon payment of $77 (inc GST) with your form. This allows you to list up to five artists that are also cross-referenced to the Artist section. Any additional Artist names are $11 each (inc GST) if you wish to have them listed in the Artist section though they are free in your management listing.
* For Managers of One Unrecorded Artist
We suggest you use the Artists section to promote your artist, not have your management company listed. A paid Artist listing, costing only $77 (inc gst) can give you a lot more info on your band than having a management listing. Also, you won't be deluged by useless calls, faxes, mail and demos.
* Self Managed Non-MMF Member Artists Are Not Eligible For Management Listings
Your listing can appear in the Artists section only, not in this section. If you are an artist or band not recorded by a major or indie record company going through a national distributor, you should use the Artist listing form. The cost of the listing in the Artist section is a reasonable $77 (inc GST) which includes contact details plus up to 25 words on the artist and a free directory.

Publishers

A free listing is available for publishing companies that handle multiple music composers or songwriters, catalogues or libraries etc and must be members of AMCOS or APRA. We do not list single composer or songwriter publishing companies free--those companies can be listed for a small fee, see below.

Free listing comprises of contact details and a list of three staff. We also allow the free listing of up to 25 Australian writers and up to 25 Australian and/or overseas catalogues or libraries. Any further description of the company's business or writers and catalogues is charged on a per word basis as outlined below. We can't economically list every writer and catalogue administered by every publisher for free so we allow a limited amount of information for free and charge for extra information as 'user pays'. But, PAID DISPLAY ADVERTISERS GET EXTRA WRITERS & CATALOGUES LISTED WITHOUT CHARGE.

If you are not a paid display advertiser then: Extra writer/composer listings beyond the free 25 and extra catalogue/libraries listings beyond the free 25 are charged at $7.00. If it's a writer's name and their group such as Paddy McAloon (Prefab Sprout) or writer and their publishing company name such as Fingers Music (Patrice Rushen) then it's charged as two extra names. Record Companies - Independents

A free listing is available to labels with more than one artist and two full length releases (CD or EP, not singles), through a recognised national distributor (EDC, Shock, MGM, Inertia, MRA, One Stop, Newmarket, Rocket, etc) or a major label (ABC, Sony BMG, Shock, Universal, Warner, EMI, Alberts, Roadrunner). The releases must be released to the market as of October 1 for the March edition or May 1 for the September edition. The releases must have been issued within the past year.

Labels that cannot (do not) conform to the above criteria are welcome to pay for a listing at $110 with includes a cross reference to the Artist section.

Why do we insist some labels pay for a listing?
With over 1750 label names in the market some that have had no releases in years, 'Vanity labels', one artist labels or artist’Äôs with no CD or EP releases we had to draw the line between free versus paid.

What if an artist wants to list their own label?
We suggest they take out the enhanced boxed artists listing in the Artist section which includes label details as well as information on the artist.
